Key Technical Specifications
- Linear Range: 2 mm (80 mils), from 0.25 to 2.3 mm (10 to 90 mils), output –1 to –17 Vdc. The recommended gap for radial vibration is –9 Vdc (approx. 1.27 mm / 50 mils).
- Probe DC Resistance (RPROBE): 7.59 ± 0.50 Ω for 1.0 meter cable length (center to outer conductor).
- Field Wiring: Use 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16–24 AWG), 3-conductor shielded triad cable, tinned wiring. Maximum length 305 meters (1,000 feet) between sensor and monitor.
- Probe Tip Material: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). Probe Case: AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel (SST).
- Probe Case Thread: M10 x 1, with maximum thread engagement of 15 mm. Probe weight: 323 g/m (11.4 oz).
- Temperature Range (Standard): Operating and storage –52°C to +177°C (–62°F to +350°F). Extended tip range up to +218°C (+425°F); cable/connector up to +260°C (+500°F). Avoid prolonged exposure below –34°C (–30°F) to protect the pressure seal.
- Humidity Tolerance: Less than 3% change in Average Scale Factor (ASF) after 56 days at 93% RH (IEC 60068-2-3).
- Agency Approvals: CSA, ATEX, IECEx (option 05) – suitable for hazardous areas (Class I, Zone 0/2; Class I, II, III Divisions).
Installation & Mechanical Details
- The 3300 XL probe seals differential pressure between tip and case using a Viton® O-ring. We do not pressure-test each unit before shipping; contact our custom design team if your application requires a validated pressure seal.
- For intrinsically safe installations, use zener barriers per drawing 141092 or galvanic isolators. For non-incendive circuits, follow drawing 140979.
- Temperature classifications (EPL Ga/Gc): T1 (–55°C to +232°C), T2 (–55°C to +177°C), T3 (–55°C to +120°C), T4 (–55°C to +80°C), T5 (–55°C to +40°C).
- For EPL Dc, classifications include T280°C, T225°C, T170°C, T130°C, T105°C, and T90°C with corresponding ambient temperature limits.
