Installation Guide

  • Mount the probe with an M10 x 1 thread and respect the 15 mm maximum thread engagement.
  • Set the radial vibration gap to –9 Vdc, which equals about 1.27 mm (50 mils).
  • Use 3-conductor shielded triad cable for field wiring and keep tinned connections.
  • Keep field wiring under 305 meters (1,000 feet) to avoid high-frequency signal rolloff.
  • Apply the recommended torque of 11.2 N·m (100 in·lbf) for standard forward mounted probes.
  • For the first three threads, use a maximum torque of 22.6 N·m (200 in·lbf) and a recommended 7.5 N·m (66 in·lbf).
  • Connect the probe to a 3300 XL Proximitor sensor and monitor for proper signal output.
  • Avoid exposing the probe to temperatures below –34°C (–30°F) to protect the pressure seal.
