About the Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival (Moon Festival) falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, when the moon is fullest. In 2026, it falls on September 25.
Origin: It began over 3,000 years ago as a harvest moon worship, later becoming a celebration of family reunion. The legend of Chang'e, the moon goddess, is closely tied to it.
