Module Features & Protection

  • Zero-crossing Triac switching minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMI) and extends load life.
  • Full isolation between each output and from controller logic enhances system safety and noise immunity.
  • Integrated MOV protects against voltage spikes and transients on the AC line.
  • Field-replaceable fuses (3.15A time-lag) protect each output from overload and short-circuit conditions.
  • Shorting comb accessory simplifies wiring when all outputs share a common AC voltage source.
  • Configurable failsafe operation ensures predictable behavior during communication loss or system fault.
  • Low leakage current minimizes energy waste and prevents unintended activation of sensitive loads.

Installation & Wiring Guidelines

  • Install in a compatible Honeywell HC900 rack. Ensure the AC line voltage is within 85-240V AC.
  • Use appropriate wire gauge for the load current (up to 2A per channel).
  • For inductive loads (solenoids, contactors), consider using an external snubber circuit to reduce EMI.
  • When using the shorting comb, connect the common AC source to the comb and then to the barrier terminal block.
  • Replace blown fuses only with the specified 3.15A time-lag type (e.g., Littelfuse 37413150410).
  • Observe the minimum load requirement of 50 mA; for smaller loads, a parallel load resistor may be necessary.
  • Ensure proper heat dissipation; do not exceed the total module current rating of 8A.

Typical Applications

  • Switching resistive heating elements.
  • Controlling solenoid valves and AC contactor coils.
  • Activating fans, pumps, and small AC motors.
  • General-purpose AC power control in industrial processes.
